♥ Barcelona ♥
Hello and welcome to this “a bit” abandoned blog! I am sorry for not updating it but I like to enjoy my vacations and spend time with the ones I love instead of being obsessed with posting photos and blog posts.
I think this is my first proper travel diary here on the blog and I hope you’ll like it!
So , I’ll start by telling you how we end up planning a trip in Europe even if we said that the next trip will be our honeymoon ( Yes, we haven’t gone yet, we want something special that will require some money and we want to enjoy it the best we can. I am not talking about luxurious hotels and fancy food but we want to visit a lot and that is not so cheap). So, back to the story. Me and my husband are big, big fans of Coldplay and our love for this band has only grown bigger with every song and every new album. We think they are genius and love what they do, not only their brilliant music but also how they always have an amazing video and the things they promote. So, when we heard they’re going to have a world tour, we said we need to go, we’ve been waiting to watch them live for many years and this was the perfect moment.
I went and studied all the cities they’ll be in and the first obvious choice was a city from England but we’ve just been there during Christmas holiday. When I saw they’ll be performing in Barcelona, I got all emotional and so happy because I had visited this city some years ago with my parents and since then, I have dreamed about visiting it again with Alecs, I fell in love with it so badly and I wanted to share my love for it with him too.
I also knew that my all time favorite, perfect singer, the one and only – Adele – will go on a tour and my sneaky fingers went and searched if she’ll perform there too. I was already making fantasy plans and not thinking straight. I thought to myself: “It would be – too perfect – , to have three dreams coming true in only one week!”
And what do you think happened? Adele would have a concert there too, in the same week! I couldn’t believe my eyes! I was so happy but at the same time, I was a bit sad because I knew Alecs would totally agree with Coldplay but not with Adele. He likes her but he wouldn’t pay the money to hear her live.
Then I told my plan to one of my best friends and she told me she would also love to go to the Adele show and that she panned going to another city but that it would be a perfect idea to go together in Barcelona.
So, to cut the story “short”, I managed to go to both concerts and see my 2 of my top 3 favorite singers/bands and visit Barcelona with my favorite person and 2 of my best friends! It was truly amazing! Now, let’s see what we did on the first day there:
We arrived Monday night and we only managed to go to the supermarket and buy some food. Many of you may not now but I’ve lived in Spain for 3 years and I was really missing some of the things you can only find there. So we went and bought some delicious and not so healthy food supplies. First photo? This one. Now, tell me if this seems like a normal, not so fancy neighborhood. I don’t think so! And the entire city of Barcelona looks like that! Almost every building is a work of art ♥
The next day, we decided to visit Montjuïc. Montjuïc is a proeminent hill overlooking the Barcelona harbour that has played a strategic part in the defense of the city a long time ago. You can see the whole city from the top of this hill, you actually have a 360 panoramic view, and there you can visit the remaining fortress of the Montjuïc Castle. There are excellent museums and magnificent views worth the climb to the approximately 210-metre-high mountain. You can take the cable car but we only used the funicular and then climbed on foot. We chose this option because we wanted to see everything this “hill” had to offer and, trust, me, it was worth it, there are so many amazing plants, trees and beautiful flowers that are worth being seen and admired.
At the bottom of Montjuic, there’s the most amazing museum I’ve ever seen: Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya. We didn’t visit it but we admired it and spend quite a while by that beautiful water. I think the photos will speak for themselves.
After visiting a few more attractions like: Caixa Forum, Pavillion Mies van der Rohe, Font Màgica, Plaça d’Espanya and the rest of the area, we headed to Las Ramblas to get some food.
One of my favorite places: La Boqueria, an amazing market where you can find food, vegetabes, fruits, drinks and all sorts of candies. I love, love, love that place!
Then we went to the place where the concert was taking place: Palau Sant Jordi and waited there until we were allowed to get inside.
I was so anxious, I can’t even describe it! All my friends were making fun of me because I carried that sequined blazer with me all day long ( well, Alecs carried it) in order to have a fancier outfit ( ignore the sneakers). And guess what? Adele wore an amazing long gown full of sequins too! Oh, I was so happy!
And, now, the best moment ever was when she appeared on that stage, actually, she showed up from under the scene, like a goddess! Forgive my excitement, but I love her so much, for me, she’s the best and no one could ever make me change my mind! I just adore her voice!
I have had imagined all day how the show was going to start and it was much more beautiful that I thought, the first song was, obviously, “Hello” and that place was on fire when those eyes were blinking and we heard the first “hello”! Oh, I still get so emotional when remembering that first feeling. It was magical, a dream come true!
It lasted 2 hours that felt like a few minutes, I could’ve stayed there and listen to her a whole day. We laughed, we smiled, we cried our eyes out and we danced. It was a carousel of emotions and I am so happy that I got to be there and go through everything and feel so much! I really recommend you to go at least once in your life to hear her sing, IT WILL BE MAGICAL! <3
That’s it for the first day! Let me know if you have visited this amazing city and what did you think of it!
Kisses and hugs!

Pupicei!
Really nice trip!! 🙂
